A Chinese fashion boutique name Yuekou is using a model for their line of clothing aimed at teenage girls that is not exactly typical. The model in question is a 72 year old man who was inspired to model by his granddaughter, the owner of the boutique.
Liu Xianping, the spritely 72 year old, has modeled many looks for the company, often wearing fanciful wigs as part of his transformation. Clearly the tactic is working, as since he began modeling for the company sales increased five fold.
It all began when Xianping was helping his granddaughter to style certain aspects of the line, and the pair had so much fun brainstorming that modeling was a natural next step. While some have been critical of Yeukou’s choice, Xianping it seems, couldn’t care less, and has been quoted as saying “why is it unacceptable for someone like me to wear woman’s clothes? Modeling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to loose. We we very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all I care about is to be happy.”
Rock on Xianping, rock on.
