Since I know you are currently waiting with bated breath for the release of Kesha’s sophomore album next month, I present to you, one of the most anticipated tracks from the upcoming release. A duet with veteren rocker Iggy Pop entitled “Dirty Love.”
The song is admittedly catchy, featuring a chorus of chanting, and guitar riffs reminiscent of both Iggy Pop’s earlier work, as well as sharing the common feel you’d be familiar with from listening to The Black Keys (who also feature on the album)
Kesha’s pop sensibilities are never forgotten though, with all this set against the backdrop of a thumping dance beat. While the song builds, it ends rather abruptly leaving any hope for a euphoric finish diminished. All in all though, this song isn’t too bad.
The Stooges frontman joins Kesha on the chorus, and also sings the line, “Cockroaches do it in garbage cans / Rug merchants do it in Afghanistan / Santorum do it in a V-neck sweater / Pornos produce it, but wild child can do it better!”
Listen to the track above. Kesha’s second album “Warrior” will be released on December 3rd, featuring further appearances from The Black Keys, and The Strokes.
